The development on Bennetts Road, Keresley, will include 12 one-bed apartments and a mixture of two, three and four-bed detached and semi-detached homes.
All of the new homes will be affordable, with 45 at affordable rent and 11 for shared ownership, providing a welcome housing boost to the local community and breathing new life into a redundant brownfield site.
The scheme also includes sustainable transport infrastructure, with 56 cycle spaces provided for residents to use.
The Bennetts Road site was formerly occupied by Coventry and Keresley Sports and Social Club, which was demolished in February 2013. The site also consisted of two disused bowling greens previously used by the Coventry Colliery Bowls Club.
As part of the planning agreement, Partner Construction and Midland Heart will pay £130,000 to Coventry City Council towards upgrades at Coventry Colliery Bowls Club’s new facilities at Keresley Rugby Club.
Frank Lincoln, Regional Managing Director, United Living New Homes | Partner Construction, said: “We are proud to be supporting our delivery partner, Midland Heart, on this development, which will create much needed new homes tailored to the demands of the community, in particular, young adults and families who wish to move into their first homes."
Chris Miller, Director of Development, Midland Heart, said: “The Midlands needs more affordable homes, and we’re committed to building as many as we can over the next few years.
“Regenerating brownfield sites is a key part of our development plan, and we look forward to working with Partner Construction to boost the local area.”
The development is due to be completed in March 2023.
